Summary
Now that Steve and Eddie are past all that puppy love stuff, Eddie's looking for common ground. He's thinking about forever and the one thing he needs is someone into music at least half as much as he is.
Steve seems to prefer silence, which is worrying so Eddie puts him to a bunch of tests to find out what's going on. Does he not like music? Does he not like Eddie's music? There future hinges on it so Eddie pulls out all the stops to find out.
Spoiler alert: it's because Steve can't always hear the music.

Summary
At the beginning of his rant, lecture, whatever, Hottie stares right at him. He has a really intense stare. Pretty brown eyes set in a prettier face with even prettier hair on top of his head. Eddie gets distracted by all that pretty and by trying to make his point.
And he doesn’t notice until halfway through that Hottie isn’t looking at him anymore. He’s looking at his friend.
Eddie looks at her, too. Looks at her confused and focused expression. Looks at her hands moving rapidly.
Oh. G-d.
Hottie’s deaf, isn’t he?

Summary
It’s Steve and Eddie’s first anniversary and Steve is excited, really he is, it’s just…This is the first relationship to last long enough for an anniversary since Nancy; it feels big. He’s done his best to keep his anxiety under control—Robin keeps reminding him that Eddie is not Nancy—but he still feels like he has to get this right, has to make it the perfect anniversary or Eddie will leave him too.
So when a migraine attack hits him on their special day, Steve tells himself he just needs to nap some of it off and keep to their plans—after all, Eddie did get them “sports game tickets” as he so eloquently put it, and Steve doesn’t want to waste this opportunity of a partner actually showing an interest in the things he likes. Eddie shows him that the only thing that makes an anniversary perfect is them spending time together, even if it’s just a spontaneous romantic spa night at home.

Summary
There’s this guy in Steve’s third period English class who won’t stop staring at him, and at first he thinks that he’s trying to pick a fight.
“That’s just Eddie Munson,” Carol informs him while picking delicately at her own cuticles. “He’s not trying to fight you, Steve. He’s just a creep. The best thing you can do is ignore him.”
Steve doesn’t know about all of that, but he supposes Carol’s right about one thing: Eddie Munson is not trying to fight Steve. He just stares a lot. And he doesn’t even look away when Steve catches him and they lock eyes. He just burrows further into his arms and raises a thin, pierced eyebrow.
It's the end of senior year and Eddie Munson won't stop staring. Robin Buckley does not get paid enough to deal with this shit. Steve Harrington plays board games with middle schoolers. He is also apparently in a long-term relationship with both of his best friends; he does not know this.

"The shelter."
That lights a fire under Gareth's ass, and he's up off the couch.
"Eddie, no, we don't have room for anything else!" Gareth snaps, waving his hands around the living room that's already full of cages, aquariums and other various habitats.
"But Steve called," Eddie says, and Gareth huffs out a breath of annoyance.
