The door opens to reveal long, black, sweat-matted hair sticking to pale skin, an achingly familiar uniform, and a truly worrying amount of blood.
He notices all these things, the minute details, the discarded crimson soaked bandages on the floor, his suture kit that’s strewn across the room, heavy breathing and shaky hands, before his mind allows him to piece it all together.
His knife clatters to the ground.
After a year of radio silence, with no warning whatsoever, Keith Kogane is bleeding out on Lance’s bathroom floor.

Lance rolls the straw of his milkshake between his fingers. “I’m telling you, he’s not normal.”
Pidge shakes their head as they lean back in the diner booth, arms crossed. “You have a crush.”
“He has a mullet,” Lance stresses with a wave of his hand before he angrily slurps the rest of his drink. “That has to prove something at least. Maybe he was turned in the 80s. He does seem to wear a lot of vintage clothing.”
“Or he doesn’t care about his appearance. Or he’s just a big fan of the eighties. Or maybe he’s just a normal human with normal interests and not a vampire at all.” Pidge ticks off on their fingers.
“You believe in Mothman!” Lance argues.
“Yeah but I don’t think they live in my apartment complex.”
(or Lance’s neighbor is a vampire and he is determined to prove it)

Summary
“Uhm… hi honey,” says Lance tentatively, wondering who the hell is behind that mask and just how much will he wish to be dead after this.
But then the person speaks and his whole world turns upside down.
“…Hi.” A male voice. And an unmistakable one too, even though he hasn’t heard that voice in a while.
“You…” Lance says, but he stops his own mouth from ruining everything. Because, holy quiznak, that’s Keith.
He's marrying Keith.
Lance messes up during a mission and crashes into a sacred place. As if that wasn't bad enough, he can't leave unless his soulmate comes and marries him in a... questionable ceremony.Oh well, he just has to fake a relationship with any of his friends and get over with it, right?...Right?

Summary
“Here, take these. You looked cold.”
Lance is holding out some black fabric, and it’s only when Keith tentatively reaches out that he realizes that they’re gloves. And the fingers have been cut off, which somewhat defeats the point, but the gesture isn’t lost on Keith. “Thank… you?” The gloves are warm in his hands and warmer still when he puts them on.
“No problem!” He smiles brightly, in the way that would make galaxies jealous, holding magnitudes beyond. “I know they probably aren’t the best, but it’s better than nothing!”
It’s hard to fathom what more to say, especially when Keith already doesn’t talk to Lance in class since they aren’t in the same desk pod, but it luckily doesn’t matter because Lance gives a little wave and runs off back towards the playground, towards the wood chip game, almost stumbling over himself.
As he watches the blue boy walk away, Keith notices that Lance isn’t wearing any gloves himself.
