In this world, nanites exist inside every living thing, and can activate without warning, turning ordinary people into mutants and monsters called EVOs.
Valerie Gray, an EVO herself, is the only one who can cure them. Together with an organization called Providence, she helps protect the world from EVOs. Danny, too, is an EVO, with the ability to create rifts in space, but he works for a villainous group of EVOs called the Pack, led by Vlad Masters.
When the Pack plants a device in Hong Kong which drains nanites (along with those who host them) of their energy, it's up to Valerie and Providence to stop them. Along the way, long-buried secrets will be brought to the surface.
