The man shifted his weight on the branch, the bark creaking dully under him, and seemed to arrive at a more stable position and decide to stay there. He looked around the park briefly, at the empty path, at the fact that Baekjin was apparently alone and had no obvious reason to have stopped, and then back at Baekjin.
"The cat left." he said.
Baekjin waited and raised his eyebrows. "So you don't actually live on the tree?"
"Ha." The man laughed, quick and surprised, like he hadn't expected to. "No. No, I don't live on the tree. There was a cat."
"I know," Baekjin said. "I heard you."
