Jack Abbot was very clearly not the kind of guy that Samira Mohan was into.
Which was fine. There was a whole laundry list of reasons that women didn’t flock to Jack Abbot. He was too short: women expected alphas to be taller. He was approaching fifty. He had a job he was completely dedicated to that did not lend itself to a normal sleeping cycle— or a normal life, for that matter. He had one factory-model leg and one titanium and carbon fiber aftermarket fix for a right-side BKA he’d undergone in Germany. He was chock-full of C-PTSD and anxiety and depression and maladaptive coping mechanisms that ten years of therapy had finally put a slight dent in. He had a wife named Maggie who’d been dead for almost seven years. And he hadn’t had sex in those seven years, apart from the handful of emergency DRIs he’d been able to help with here at the Pitt.

Jack wanted to feel like Robby’s pretty bride. Robby’s tucking his sunglasses into his collar, consumed in a cloud of cologne, bouquet of flowers in his free hand. Fucking flowers in his hand, as if he’s not perfect enough. Jack is the one who loses his breath for a minute. They surprised each other.
“Hey, honey,” Jack says with an eager grin, licking over his bottom lip. “Happy anniversary. You wanna relive our wedding night?”

Summary
All Jack can smell now is Robby’s thick pine scent, and he fills his nose and mouth with it, closing his eyes at the deliciousness. He doesn’t want to live in a world where that scent isn’t the first thing that he wakes up to. Smelling it on Robby’s pillow in the mornings when Robby goes to work has nothing on this, having it fresh and unlimited from the source.
Jack snuggles closer against his alpha, savoring the feeling of Robby’s skin against Jack’s bare chest, closing his own eyes briefly. He wants to burrow into Robby’s arms ever deeper. Jack wants to stay here forever with the soft morning sunlight painting gold into Robby’s hair.
But despite the lovely peace and quiet, the relief from knowing neither of them have anywhere to be…he can’t deny the fact that he’s leaking, aching, empty and needy the way only Robby can fix.
