Summary
Lace looked to her right.
Hornet wasn’t moving.
Lace was a little dramatic at times, yes. She and her sister made up for Mother’s stone-cold demeanour with their theatrics and banter. The hunter herself even lamented on how annoying she was to her face. More than once.
Despite that, it wasn’t too far off the mark to say that seeing Hornet like that made Lace's heart drop.

Set after the events of Act 3, Hornet and Lace get captured and sent to the Slab, where they must work together to break out of the prison and find out what's going on

Faced with the maws of Gluttony, Subaru falls, name erased. Forgotten, stuck in a cell, the world cares little for his existence, and the apathy and pity that surround him strike deeper than any blade could. Those fleeting bits of happiness in his memories do little to stem the tide of darkness that is his mind. The solace that remain are the whispers in his head, and the cold wind that promises to carry him out.
Nonetheless. Natsuki Subaru, the Fool, the Hero is gone.
But perhaps, through the erasure an opportunity lies hidden, something else can come of it.
