Jake must have been waiting by the door, or heard the sound of Finn's boots on the stairs, for almost as soon as Finn finished knocking came the quiet click of the door being unlocked. Sharp blue eyes flicked over him as Jake stepped aside, beckoning him inside the apartment with a casual wave of his hand. “Ran into any issues out there?”
“No, all quiet.” And thank God for that. Finn did not want to explain what he was doing out here if a squad followed the sound of gunshots. Grinning up at his boyfriend, Finn flicked off his torch, tucking it into his coat pocket, only to pull out a small container instead. “I brought the sour cream you asked for.” That in itself had been a strange request, when Finn had asked if Jake wanted him to bring anything for tonight. It had taken a fine hand of bartering and some slight begging, but he had managed to get his hands on a small container of sour cream. Even if he wasn’t exactly sure what Jake had in mind for it.
Jake’s crooked grin softened into something warm, a calloused hand coming up to cup Finn’s jaw as he lent down to steal a kiss from Finn’s lips. “Knew I could count on you, boy scout. Now come on, I’m making latkes.”

Staring down at the two cheerful lines of pink, Rita beat back the inane urge to giggle over the fact that it was a salad that is going to make her fat. A store bought salad a few weeks ago had landed her with a nasty case of food poisoning and a prescription of antibiotics, with strict orders to take them twice a day until the box was empty, no matter if she started feeling better before then. Unfortunately, there had been no warning that the type of antibiotics she was taking would have an effect on her birth control pills and that they should have switched to condoms for a while instead.
So now she had a little bun in the oven. A little 8 week old baby bun bun.

Of a bunny rabbit, sleeping in her den as she waited for the harsh winter to pass and the plants to grow again.

The blue and white plaid blanket less so, but since they were probably going to end up sitting on it, it didn’t exactly matter that much. Lining the folded blanket along the bottom of the basket to serve as a cushion, Claire carefully loaded in all the snack foods she had picked out for her date night with Alex.
They had come up with the idea a few months after they first started seeing each other, that every Saturday they would try and make time for each other. Sure, sometimes Claire would have to go on a mission, or Alex would be overtaken by research, but they tried to make it work. And tonight it was Claire’s turn to pick. So she was going with the classic picnic under the stars by the river.
