Summary
Gabrielle is a trans woman struggling to accept her identity, still caught up on the teachings of the Council. V2 is assisting her in transitioning, and does all her blood work and estrogen injections. Even though she is happy with her transition, Gabrielle still struggles with her internalized transphobia. She and V2 have a bit of a heart-to-heart moment. I wanted to try writing some hurt/comfort.

V2 the bestFinally, V2 breaks the silence. “Are you familiar with the work of Daniel M. Lavery?” The machine asks.
“...No, why?”
“Neither am I. But I once heard a quote from his work, I think you may appreciate hearing it.”
Gabrielle tilts her head inquisitively.
“He wrote, ‘God blessed me by making me transsexual for the same reason God made wheat but not bread and fruit but not wine, so that humanity might share in the act of creation.’” V2 says, shortly pausing after quoting.
“Gabrielle, you are aware that I do not know much about Heaven or God. But from what I gather, you are the most holy being in all existence. You are following in his image, creating your own form and shaping your life in your own way. He would have wanted this for you, and he would be proud of you.” The machine’s arms wrap loosely around the back of her neck.
“This is not mutilation, Gabrielle. This is creation, and it is divine.” V2’s hands cup her cheeks, forcing her to look into the gentle glow of their single, yellow eye.
