Bakugou turned his head away, refusing to meet Shigaraki’s gaze. “You think I’m that stupid? You’re wasting your breath.”
“Am I?” Shigaraki’s voice grew softer, more insidious. “When’s the last time you heard from them? When’s the last time any of them tried to reach you? You’ve been here for weeks, and no one has come for you. What does that tell you?”
The words sank into Bakugou’s mind like poison. It was true that he hadn’t heard anything from his friends or the heroes since he’d been captured. No rescue attempts, no calls through his communicator, no hints that they were even looking for him. But that didn’t mean they weren’t. It didn’t mean they didn’t care.
Except… the doubt was there, festering like a wound.

Summary
Zanka knew that carrying out a relationship with a Raider as a Cleaner would be complicated. He knew he'd have to be careful. More than careful. He'd have to be perfect- no matter what, no one could find out about the truth. Not when he knew what the consequences would be.
Naturally, he slips up anyways, accidentally mentioning Jabber's name at HQ, and it’s all over.
Except its not. Because there's good news and bad news.
The good news was that Zanka hadn't actually said Jabber's name. Instead, he'd said a nickname. A nickname that nobody knew referred to Jabber.
The bad news was that now all the Cleaners thought that Zanka had a girlfriend named Abby, and if he wanted to keep his job, his family, and his relationship with Jabber, he was going to have to keep up the charade.
What could go wrong?
