Tommy shrugged. “Eh, that’s just how it be sometimes. You piss people off, you lay low for a bit, and eventually, it blows over.”
“I don’t think you understand. They have your name, your face--”
“Don’t care. This isn’t my first rodeo, and it won’t be my last.” The kid grinned at that a bit, like it was some weird joke. Wilbur didn't get it. “Besides, I’ve kinda earned a reputation for being a pain in the ass for those guys. It’s kinda a compliment they care enough to bother killing me.”
