They called her Lúthien reborn before Arwen was old enough to understand that they were speaking a Doom, not a blessing.

There are so many things to love about this: the beautiful language, the tiny details about weaving and dyeing, the descriptions of Beren and Luthien, the characterisation of Arwen....

This was the first fic to make me think that the Silmarillion could have been even more painful and hopeless. I bow to the author.

Summary
When news had come home that Bill had gotten Ravenclaw, Arthur and Molly had shared a look but sent Bill a congratulatory letter and some newly knitted blue mittens. “He was always too smart for me,” Arthur had said, and Molly had hummed.
“Hufflepuff, it’s a… nice… House,” Molly had said the next year, searching in her knitting basket for a shade of yellow she didn’t dislike too badly while Arthur looked over the friendly little missive from Pomona Sprout. How had she ended up with so many ugly threads? They must have been gifts; she wouldn’t have bought this pastel mustard skein, even at a 90% discount.
“You know,” said Arthur, later, as they watched the Express carry Percy away to his first year at Hogwarts. “I don’t think Perce is gonna be the one to break the streak.”
“So it’s a streak, is it?” Molly said, keeping an eye on the twins, who were chasing pigeons she was hoping they wouldn’t manage to catch. It was making Ginny’s day, though, the little girl covering her laughter with her fists, so she wasn’t stopping them yet.
“I think it is now,” he said.

Oh this is beautiful! And actually realistic, if the Hat didn't respect the children's wishes so much. I mean, seven children with completely different personalities and values, all in the same house? That must've been choice. But the author managed to fit all Weasleys into the right house for them.

Summary
A comic adaptation of the Hobbit.
Bilbo has always struggled to tell the "true" story of what happened on his journey to the Lonely Mountain. Now, he's trying to retell his adventures as a bright happy children's book for his young nephew Frodo.
But is he telling the full truth? And are there things that he's leaving out?
(I'm taking the interpretation that Tolkien's 'translation; of the Red Book of Westmarch was only a translation of one of various copies made of the book throughout the centuries, and that I am 'translating' a different version of the text with the help of different primary sources! Which is why our descriptions of the events may differ.)

Have you ever read a fanfiction that felt so good that it should be published as a book? This is the same, just as a comic. It's so so so stunning - I mean, the artist achieved to recreate Tolkien's style of register change through their art!

This is breathtakingly beautiful. Probably one of the best renditions of Thorin's and Bilbo's personalities out there. Incredibly slowburn and all the better for it.
