Summary
In a universe were white diamond forced Steven to unfuse and only keep the pink diamond but to make Pink forget about his organic half and letting it live as well, replaced his gem with a pearl and reset their minds in order to forget any memories of their fusion.
While the pearl keeps changing of owners,it believes he was just made to fulfill gem strange desires..he doesn't know why but discard the curiosity since pearls feelings are irrelevant.
And the pink diamond is forced to accomplish white diamond's expectations.The diamond feels nothing but a black hole in his gem,wanting to know why he always feels like this..but can't really talk about his own thoughts because that would make him imperfect.

(The main three crystal gems eventually planned on pretending that white diamond had reset their gems and are disguised as normal homeworld gems in order to try and bring their Steven back,what they don't know is that Steven was actually a fusion and the only way on getting him back is forcefully bring them back to earth to try and remember who they were..)
