Summary
Eddie hesitates for a moment longer, eyes darting between Buck and Ravi as they sit back in their harnesses. It used to feel strange, jumping into danger without Eddie there to watch his back. It was terrifying, even.
But that was before. Before Bobby— uh, before Ravi proved beyond a shadow of a doubt that he would put his life and liberty on the line for the safety of his team. Before Buck decided to trust the kid with everything he has.
The world is different now, whether they like it or not. Buck and Ravi are partners in the field. Eddie’s riding with Hen. It’s for the best, really; the 118 needed a new paramedic. Eddie was the best man for the job. Everyone knows that. Buck knows that.
And yet, the sight of Eddie’s clenched jaw — the tension in his hands — scrapes at the walls of Buck’s chest, carving out some invisible part of him that may never heal.
The 118 has reassembled in the wake of Bobby’s passing, doing everything in their power to help the people of Los Angeles and keep his memory alive. But, as tensions rise and disasters befall their sun-drenched home, Buck and Eddie find themselves changed; by loss, by life, and — most of all — by each other.

Summary
“H-he would want you here. For the funeral. We– I need you here.”
And it’s this, somehow, that rips Eddie out of hazy disbelief and into brutal, painful clarity. Time and time again, Buck has held steadfast to the notion that Eddie’s place is here, in El Paso, with his son. He’s never faltered on this, no matter how much it hurt him – hurt them both.
If Buck’s asking him to come back to L.A., even for a visit, it must… It must mean…
“He…” Eddie chokes. Something splashes onto his leg, crossed underneath him as he perches in a rumpled nest of sheets and pillows, and he reaches up to find a thick layer of tears coating both of his cheeks. He hadn’t even realized he was crying. “He’s really gone?”
“Y-yeah Eds,” Buck sniffs, emotion creeping back into his voice despite his best efforts. “He’s really gone.”
---
Bobby Nash is dead; gone before Eddie even knew he was in trouble in the first place. As the 118 grapples with a world they never imagined they'd see, Eddie does his best to be there for his friends, however he can.
It's harder than he thinks.

Summary
Deft fingers undo two more buttons, pulling his shirt into an exaggerated “v” and confirming the worst. Colorful splotches dot his chest, and if Buck’s memory serves, they won’t be contained to just the upper third of his torso.
“Shit,” he whispers, a prickle of shame creeping up the back of his neck.
Eddie turns his back on the scene with a huff, snatching the cookie tub from Chimney’s suddenly-slack grip.
“Oh my god,” Chim gasps. “He’s back.”
“Who’s back?” Eddie asks, glancing between Hen and Chimney.
“Buck 1.0,” Hen says, a smile in her voice.
“Oh come on, it was one hookup.” It’s a lie, he knows, but telling his friends about Stacy surely isn’t going to help his case right now. “I’m not the kind of guy who acts like an ass on calls and steals fire trucks anymore.”
—
Eddie's planning his move to Texas.
Buck... well. Buck regresses. -

Summary
Christopher left with barely a word. Bobby retired without telling the team, without even telling Buck. It aches, but Buck is better equipped to handle the situation than most. He’s lived with this pain for so long it feels like a part of him, tucked away in a corner of his heart. People leave him all the time, he’s had a lot of opportunities to get good at what comes after. It hurts, sure, but Buck knows he’ll survive it, knows how to cope with it, knows how to go on living.
Eddie doesn’t.
-----------------
Christopher's gone, Bobby's in forced retirement, Gerrard is a terror, and Buck is trying to keep his family together, at any cost.
Eddie needs to learn who he is and what he wants outside of being a father, of being a firefighter.
As they work to rescue the people of Los Angeles from perilous disasters, they just might find a way to save each other.

Summary
The picturesque village of Buell, Maine is one of the last in the United States to continue the tradition of the “harvest” or “prosperity” lottery. Its residents insist the lottery makes them stronger, even as condemnation from outsiders grows.

Summary
The girl’s shoulders hunch again. An expression is battling on her face. Guilt again, and fear, and shame. And then faintly, in the soft turn of her cheek, commiseration. She watches Gustave for a long, sad moment, and then turns to a new page in the notepad. She starts writing something, and then stops, glancing furtively at Gustave before scribbling it out. On a new line she instead writes in big bold letters:
Maelle.

Gustave is the local mechanic of Lumiere, an idyllic coastal village far away from the chaos and conflict of Paris. Struggling with his recent injury and the loss of a good friend, he's not quite prepared when a family moves into the abandoned Manor on the edge of town.
He's definitely not prepared for their children.

Summary
Back when Verso still believed himself to be just another face in Lumière’s crowd, he was becoming quite impatient with waiting for his soulmate to appear so they could bring colours into each other’s lives. Then, Verso learnt the truth and knew that, in a world where no one was supposed to go through life alone, he was a fake made to exist without anyone to complete his soul.
It’s more than half a century later when fate mocks him again.

Summary
Benoit forces himself to look up at Jud from where he was attempting to decipher the Father's scribbled notes. Jud stands there, shaky hands hanging loosely at his sides, in his dark sweater and grey sweatpants that Benoit knows are only staying up due to the efforts of some tightly-drawn drawstrings. Hair dripping, cheeks rosy, eyes bloodshot, beautiful.
Road to fucking Damascus.

Summary
Benoit thinks about the restlessness in Jud, the way he is a breath away from a new set of bruised knuckles. Imagines him in the ring, formidable and unsettled and angry, so angry. And then: Jud in the warm light of the church, Jud on the phone to Julie, gentle and kind and so very good that it almost aches.
or: a study in love as faith.
