“I am not a Jedi,” Ben retorts. Not anymore. “Look, we need to get out of here before that Crolute and his goons come sniffing around. If you can really fix the hyperdrive, let’s get to it.”
Still peering at him intently, as if he might have a secret Jedi insignia stamped in the leather of his blaster holder, the girl scowls in indignation. She’s pretty, Ben thinks, then immediately tosses that thought out the airlock.

Scholarship student Rey Niima feels like an outsider at the exclusive Vassar College until she discovers a prosocial way to channel her frustration: the NCAA Division 3 Vassar Fencing Team, which needs another female fencer to compete at the upcoming regional collegiate meet. There's just the small—or rather large—issue of the team's volatile leader, who seems determined to put Rey in her place by landing a touch on her.
Rey isn't sure what kind of touch, and she's become pretty good at parrying. But how will she riposte to Ben Organa-Solo's attacks, both on and off the fencing piste?

Bound by oath to serve his Lord, Paladin Ren is resurrected by his suit's systems so he can return to battle-no matter how many deaths it takes. But he won't be alone. His Lord is merciful, and has inserted a comfort hologram into the neural implant in his head, to provide companionship for the long walk home.
