Summary
Simon "wakes up" after the explosion on the blood moon, and finds that all the stars, twinkling and dazzling, have returned to the sky. It's bright, it's beautiful, it's unreal. It's unreal. It is not real.
He is no longer tangible. Simon struggles with his new found form. A saint comes to guide him.
Simon has a new job after blowing apart the SM-13 sub as a patron saint. I saw the movie on release weekend so forgive me if my memory of exact dialogue or details is mushy. Also I don't know if anyone made a thing about Laika and Simon parallels yet so here's my contribution.

What if Simon was pulled into the portal? He had just been sent into the blood, just scanned through the manual. But he hasn't used the camera. No radiation poisoning. He was hurled through the blue portal, into the Invincible II.

Summary
With a house so big, it seems like a waste to not use all of it.
Which is why she starts deliberately making an effort to spend time in the parts of it she and Joel don’t use often. The linen closet, the dining room, the two spare bedrooms, what Joel says used to be an office, even the attic, nothing gets untouched on her quest to make sure no inch of the house goes unappreciated. She always does it when Joel is out of the house, knowing that it’s a little strange, but she gets a thrill from it, the ability to think something like, “I’m in the spare bedroom of my house right now” and know that it’s not just a fantasy anymore.
And if it would likely set her up to have Joel call her a weird kid again, this new little hobby of hers, well.
What Joel doesn’t know won’t get her roasted.
