Mikey was little. Tiny. Donatello's three fingers alone could support his entire weight. And Mikey was trying to bite them, like they were lettuce leaves, there was no distinction in those little eyes.
"Mikey...? Little brother?"
There was no recognition in those little eyes either. And Mikey was little. Tiny. Donnie could have crushed him with his hand if he wanted to.
And Mikey couldn't speak, or scream, he was helpless without weapons or thought. So he hid in his shell.
But for now, he was safe, because he was in Donnie's hands. And he was only in Donnie's hands because he was little. Tiny.
(In which Mikey is de-mutated. Or so his brothers think.)
