Gintoki is trying to recover from the final battle and the deep scars that remain when his old comrade decides to show up with problems of his own. As they realise they finally have the time to have that drink and make up for lost time, their feelings for each other become relevant again after a lifetime of being repressed. Takasugi slowly grows to become more open and dependent on the people around him while navigating his second (third?) chance at life, while a certain silver headed samurai grows more restless with each passing day.

Summary
Alfred forces Bruce to spend two months on vacation in Kansas, a small, sparsely populated town, to give him a break from his grueling training and the mental exhaustion of spending almost every night at his computer reading thousands of Gotham police reports.
On this short trip, Bruce meets Clark, a boy a year younger than him who is his complete opposite.
Clark is cheerful, honest, empathetic, and responsible. The golden boy of Kansas, always with a smile and a pleasant tone of voice.
But Bruce doesn’t believe that’s the whole story. Clark lives on and grew up on the farm where there are reports of a UFO crash, and, mysteriously, his “parents”—who weren’t parents at the time—are now his parents. Was it really a coincidence that Clark appeared after this supposed UFO news? Furthermore, not to mention that Bruce was already considered tall and well-built for his age, Clark was even taller and bigger than him.
He always seemed to hear more than he intended to, or would carelessly lift objects that would be a challenge even for adults to lift.
Bruce was sure of it—there was something about Clark, and he wanted to find out what it was.

Summary
Someone new moved to Smallville, in the house on the other side of the Kent farm.
Clark meets the new kid, Bruce Wayne, and his first impression isn't great. He thinks that Bruce is spoiled and rude and out of place. Maybe that's why he blows up at him. But he still saves him when he's in trouble, that's just the kind of person that Clark is.
After a while they develop a tentative kind of friendship over the summer. Bruce isn't like anyone else that Clark knows, and he feels connected to him in all of his out of place-ness.
His own feelings for the other take him by surprise, he only hopes that he can stomp them down before he ruins their friendship over them.
