Summary
Sol swears, sometimes they can almost remember them. A desperate need arises inside them to know this enigmatic absence that Sym had loved once, even for all the ruin it brought to the planet.Wasn't that a lot like loving Sol?
There is so much disaster they were/are/will be capable of. And that's just the fraction of the truth; the fraction they can recall. Maybe they want this so they can be sure that he doesn't secretly hate them, too, for this capacity for destruction so intrinsic to their personage as it is to all sapient organic life. Or maybe just to know that some small part of him does. That would be okay, too. They just have to know.

Summary
An alternative version of Zhu's mission to retrieve the salt needed to survive Madam Zhang's trade blockade, in which Xu Da does not wake and Jiao Yu's betrayal occupies less importance in Ouyang's mind. The one where they get to deepen their connection for just a little while longer.
+ a slightly different retelling of Ouyang's conclusion to the story.
