    Most of the time, Varian's life is pretty uneventful. He goes to his classes, visits dad every few weekends, meets up with Eugene and Rapunzel whenever he can, and tries to spend the other small amount of free time he has with Hugo and Nuru (though they are usually just as occupied as he is). But now? He wishes it would go back to uneventful.

    Varian is usually very good about safety. Hell everyone in his family is adamant about it so he has to be careful.

    That's why one night when he's walking home was an extra late class, he is surprisingly prepared for being jumped. He wasn't too surprised he had to fight off some creep but it starts getting more difficult as said creep proves to be a little too devoted to Varian's life.

    Hugo’s lived his whole life as nothing more than a petty thief. Despite being less than satisfied with his circumstances, he’s come to terms with what that makes him: a common street rat.

    Varian was shoved into the position of Crown Prince of Corona at much too young an age. Now, King Frederick expects him to marry a suitor to rule by Varian’s side. But how is Varian supposed to rule a kingdom he’s never been allowed to explore?

    Donella, the king’s most trusted advisor, wants power. She wants the lamp that lays in the mythical Eternal Library, rumored to host a genie that will grant whatever three wishes one’s heart desires. All she has to do is find the diamond in the rough, someone the Library accepts. And it seems Hugo is exactly what she’s looking for.

    When a simple chance encounter in the market leaves Hugo and Varian reeling with… gasp, feelings, there’s not much they can do about it. After all, a prince can’t marry a street rat.

    Varian; the Prince of Corona, the (secretly adopted) son of King Fredrick and Queen Arianna, has a few problems he needs sorted out; he doesn’t feel worthy of being a Prince, the boy he was raised with is turning into someone he may or may not like, and even worse, he really doesn’t wanna be king someday.

    Hugo; The trusted Equerry of the Prince, best friend of the Prince, son of Captain Donella of the royal guard, and he has a few problems too. Something he had wanted since he was young isn’t super appealing anymore. Now all he wants is a life of adventure, and of Varian.

    Eugene; Please for the love of the sun SOMEONE EXPLAIN WHAT IS HAPPENING (for the majority of the plot) I DIDN’T SIGN UP FOR THIS CRAP

    Rapunzel; WHEN WILL MY LIFE BEGIN?? When I get a brother? Ooooo

    “Wait, what happened?” Varian asked, stepping closer behind Rapunzel.

    “They caught the glasses bandit.”

    The infamous thief deemed "Glasses Bandit" has officially been stopped and brought in to the castle to be imprisoned. However, Rapunzel takes pity on the thief and offers to give him two weeks to change his ways before they imprison him. In his time at the castle, he works multiple jobs, one being helping the Royal Engineer with his work. The two absolutely hate it because they cannot stand each other.

    As the conflict between the Royals, those who believe everyone should follow their destinies, and the Rebels, who wish to forge their own path in life, continues to escalate, Varian and Hugo find that their biggest challenge will not be their studies, nor the immense pressure to live up to expectations set before them. No, their real test will be whether or not they can survive rooming together all year... the jury is still out on that.
