The woman tilted her head. "Do you know what we just did to you?"
Astarion's eyes darted between them, perplexed by the question. What they did to him…?
That's when he noticed the Selûnite pendant around her neck. She was a cleric… had she healed him? He tried to piece together a scenario that made any sort of sense, but the details barely added up. Had these people found him? If so, why did they drag him across the city? How did they do such a thing? Why wasn't he in Harborside getting treatment? He wasn't sure exactly how severe his injuries had been, but he knew for a fact that a simple healing potion would not have done a thing to mend him back together.
"Are you… healers?" he asked.
The bearded man's mouth dropped open. "Healers—? What? No," he began to reach for him, but thought better of it and awkwardly closed his fist instead. "Astarion, it's me. Gale."
Astarion didn't recognize his name or his face in the slightest, but the way he was looking at him gave him pause.
"I… I don't…" Astarion shook his head slightly, racking his brain. "I'm sorry… Have we met before?"

He was pacing, his hands mindlessly occupied with a dagger and oiling cloth, and his eyes fixed on nothing in particular. It wasn’t unusual for him to be restless when he believed himself unobserved, but there was something worrying about the tension stretched across his shoulders. He had barely said a word since they had come away from Moonrise Towers. Perhaps their encounter with Araj Oblodra had affected him more than he had let on.
Or: What if the "sounds like you need a friend, not a lover" response did not end the romantic storyline with Astarion...

Summary
Gandrel has finally managed to capture Astarion, the vampire spawn responsible for the kidnapping of his daughters Kass and Chessa. He's been tasked with the mission of bringing him back to his tribe near the city of Baldur's Gate for interrogation, using him as a method to track and take down Cazador Szarr, the dreaded Vampire Lord of Baldur's Gate.
But there's a long way back to Baldur's Gate and there's a lot of anger and hatred locked up inside Gandrel towards the pale elf. The usually kindhearted hunter quickly loses himself in depravity and hatred, turning into one of the very things he so vehemently hunts.Bookmarked by Raptor_Velo

Astarion returns and Cazador remembers.
His pillow hears it all and Vellioth doesn’t, he hopes. Maybe this would be the only acceptable prayer, provided he continues to worship at Vellioth’s feet, sleep at the foot of Vellioth’s bed, and try to win some scrap of favor from the Martinet.
He is up before Vellioth and Vellioth is up before the rest of the house. The buttons of Vellioth’s doublet are familiar under his hands. He counts each one as he fastens it, finishing with the button at the top. The collar just covers Vellioth’s own two pin prick scars.
“Do not slouch, boy.”
Cazador tries to straighten. His spine feels pulled taught already, ramrod straight and frozen, a startled deer under Vellioth’s gaze. He tries to stretch it further, towards the heavens he will never reach.
Vellioth does not seem satisfied.
