Charlie was away on a tour of the other rings with Vaggie, and Lucifer was feeling unmoored. He wasn’t worried; they could take care of themselves, and of course the Sins all knew there would be hell to pay if anything happened to the princess.
But he wasn’t sure what to do with himself.
In the short time he’d been at the hotel, he’d spent most of his days doing whatever it was Charlie needed him to do. It wasn’t as if he had anything he had to do on his own, not really.

Lucifer looks down at his hands, covered in blood, at the heart clutched in them, at the split-open chest gaping like an open maw between his feet, and blinks. “Maybe I should have just asked him to dinner first.”
