Summary
Maija is an abnormal child. She knows too much, is too world weary for a child. Oh, she's cheerful enough, especially when around her twin, but the villagers oft think her a bit... odd.
The reason for this is simple. She remembers a life that is and is not her own. Remembers the tragedy of a young life snuffed out.
She gets another chance, with siblings both older and younger and a determination to see them live well.
She doesn't succeed. She doesn't quite fail, either.

“I would have freed you soon enough,” the so-called Sovereign Ruler of Candia says cheerfully, smiling at the House of Rocks as they kneel on the ground before her.
Oh, so she's freeing and imprisoning people already. What a perfect leader, Jet thinks, leaning against the cavern wall, her arms crossed as she stares down the sorceress thunderously. And I was just starting to enjoy the idea of ruling Candia, too.
Not for the first time today, she is more than a little bit pissed that she's no longer alive to say these things out loud.

Normally, he leaves his emotions be. He cannot afford to let feelings drive him forwards. Remaining logical is the only safe way to play the game of politics - and if you do not play it safe, you die. And if you die, then what was the point?

Pretending to be psychic so you didn't get arrested by the Avengers, weirdly enough, wasn't the worst thing you'd done in your life. It was a bonus that you could spend time with the badass Black Widow when a murder case turns into something a lot more dire.
