Summary
It is seven months before the events of Iron Lung.
You are a C.O.I convict, serving two years' penance for a petty crime. After an outbreak in your already over-cramped prison, you are forced to relocate to a new holding cell on the ship. The only issue is that this cell is already inhabited.
Your new cellmate is known only as the Convict. A Brother of Eden, and a butcher of men. He is everything you’ve been raised to hate, and you are everything he was raised to despise. However, in such close and heated proximity, you quickly realize that human nature has little concern for factions or sides.
Through a series of events leading up to his final day, the man once known as Simon is forced to explore his traumatic past, his conflicted present, and the future he yearns to be worthy of, as you both navigate a difficult and untenable relationship.
In a dying world, you must hold on to anything. Even if it hurts you.

Summary
He focuses on her voice over the pain and rapidly dwindling oxygen. It sounds like she’s walking as she speaks—he can hear her footsteps. She says he’s earned his freedom. More than that, he’s a hero. She tells him it’s a good day: for humanity, for him. He wants to believe her.
The footsteps stop. A moment of silence, and then—“Why isn’t he out yet?”
OR
Simon gets the data. True her word, Ava pulls him out. It’s not necessarily over after that.

It was only then that Roy noticed the incredible disarray of the room. Papers were everywhere, crumpled or shredded; almost all the books had fallen off their shelves or were left in piles with their pages torn out; samples of dead creatures were strewn all across the floor; and worst of all, the large array that hung on a canvas above his master’s desk was cut and burned beyond recognition.
Something was wrong.
But before he could process that, his master suddenly grabbed him by the shoulders, holding him in place.
“Boy, I need you to listen to me. Very soon, a pair of men are going to arrive at the house. Those men are going to be here to arrest me. I need you to take the girl and leave before they get here. Do you understand what I’m asking you to do?”
(Age/role swap-au where Roy is the protagonist and Ed is his mentor. This AU follows the rules of FMA 2003’s universe).

Summary
They stay that way for a long time, Catra’s face tucked into Adora’s shoulder, Adora gently cradling Catra’s head. Adora is careful not to hug Catra too hard or make her feel restrained, anticipating the moment that Catra will start to pull away — but Catra doesn’t. She hangs on so tightly it hurts, her claws digging through Adora’s jacket and into her back, latching into her like she did when she was a kitten and didn’t know how much her claws could hurt. Adora tries not to wince, tries not to move a single muscle, worried that if she does the spell will break and Catra will struggle away, appalled at having shown weakness.
But Catra doesn’t let go. And so neither does Adora.
