Summary
There are men turning up dead in the woods, and Chief of Police Charlie Swan has a job to do—figure out what, or who, left the poor bastards torn up as they are. Chief of Police Charlie Swan is too old for this mess. Too old and too sick of this shit to pretend Forks is just a sleepy old rural town anymore. Between the gruesome corpses and the quiet, unsettling doctor Cullen who shows up like a statue in pressed slacks, lying through his teeth, Charlie’s got more questions than answers—and no one seems too keen on giving him either.
Charlie’s trying not to notice how his breath catches when the doc gets too close. He’s also trying not to notice how the bodies keep piling up, unsolved. Neither effort is going particularly well.
And if one more person tells him it was a bear, he’s going to shoot something. Probably not a bear.

Summary
A lot of workplaces saw a vampire feeding from a coworker similar to people dating. Therefore, similar regulations. Nothing really enforced on a federal or state level. In the PTMC, those regulations weren’t common. Then again, in the whole hospital, Dennis was one of two vampires. And the other had a blood letter. Dennis just had weird ass dive bars.

Summary
Dennis’ body had been ridden with paleness for the entirety of his shift. His last feed was too long ago to remember, and he had pushed his luck too far this time. He knew that it was becoming a problem, the swaying with each jilted step, the hunger rising like bile through his body as he attempted to work on patients. The severity of his bloodlust was tumultuously too much, wracking his body in a painful need. He could see the concern on his coworker’s faces, but held himself back from falling prey to their questions.

Summary
It was typical of hospitals to staff their emergency rooms with vampires. Of course, this wasn’t common knowledge. Humans were prone to discrimination and fear on the best of days, so informing them that their hospital staff was a blood-sucking monster was bound to cause a dent in patient satisfaction.

"I think Abbot and Robby were co-turned. It would explain their whole thing.” Santos waved her hand in the air.
“Their whole thing?”
“Yeah. Didn’t you see them before Abbot left this morning? Bickering like a married couple.” She typed out another few phrases, then hit the enter key with a flourish. “Why, you aiming for the Robby-Abbot coven?”
Dennis paused for a beat. He didn’t know either of them, not really. If he was turned, he would prefer it be later down the road. “Are you a vampire?”
Santos didn’t reply, and he looked up at her warily. She wiggled her eyebrows at him. “Wouldn’t you like to know?”
