   Summary

   Two young boys, one timid and the other outgoing, meet in Pallet Town. They become best friends until a dreadful event changes their lives. First, they become distant, then they turn into rivals. Once the final straw is drawn, they separate for three years until a boy from Johto arrives in Kanto. The two rivals eventually reunite, reconcile, and develop feelings for each other. Their relationship improves, and long-lasting happiness once again enters their lives.
