"Hi! Do you know anything about cars?"
Eddie, in blue overalls, dripping in grease and motor oil, holding a goddamned wrench in his left hand, like a literal caricature of a mechanic, stares at him incredulously. He doesn't say anything; doesn't even lift his eyebrows. The clock over the desk tics loudly. "Hello? You still there?", the guy asks, a small frown on his face.
"Yes", Eddie says and clears his throat. "A thing or two."
OR
Steve can’t see - literally, but also like figuratively, because his boyfriend’s a jerk and Eddie would just be a much better fit in his humble opinion.

"Encore, encore, encore." Came the shout drowning out whatever the person outside the door was shouting.
Eddie moved a hand up to flip off the door and yell something as he timed his thrusts to the beat and shouts of the crowd. Steve was used to this routine and knew he was the envy of every girl in that audience that he was who Eddie took into the back room. This is what got Eddie off, not the danger or pain, that was Steve's thing. The risk of being caught and adoration of the crowd calling for him as he worked hard to make sure Steve was absolutely worn out and begging for more once Eddie made his triumphant return to the stage. He held the guitar in front of the crowd but he held Steve much more roughly behind the closed doors.
