Summary
It isn't unheard of for suppressants to just stop working. Bruce, with his long time of abusing suppressants, is painfully aware of this. He knows this is bound to happen one day. He just doesn't think one day turns out to be right now. But it makes sense, in a way, when he considers the presence of Clark. Of the only alpha who has gotten so close to him; of the strong, powerful pheromones he has been frequently exposed to, ever since Clark stepped into his life.
So maybe, Clark is the one who finally tipped everything off. The one triggering this inescapable heat in him. Maybe not.

“Are sure you want this one?” The trader asked. “We haven’t had him long, haven’t had the time to properly break him and he’s a fighter. He’s already bitten off the finger of one of my men.” The trader glared over at the boy in question who defiantly glared right back, muffled against his gag as he growled much like a feral beast.
“Oh a little fight will be perfect for the young master.” Samson said as a slight smirk spread across his face, knowing this stubborn boy would likely drive his young master mad, it would serve him right. The young upstart could use a little distraction to stop getting Samson’s way to climbing the ranks and what better than a troublesome nuisance such as this to take up his focus? “I’ll take him off your hands.”

Every day, she woke up just after dawn; left the comfort of her own bed to go prepare food for her, her husband, and whatever guests they might have; and checked the supply of ale in the cellar.
Then, she would make sure all the mugs and glasses were clean. Once people started rolling in, usually just after noon, the bar would be wiped down and the musicians she employed would be setting up.
