Zoey hummed, doing another turn, another scan of their surroundings.
"Y'think so?"
Rumi shifted her hands in a stretch–Zoey saw Mira's scowl harden, grip tightening on her gokdo–as the woman straightened her arms over her head. The hem of her crop-top lifted slightly, a sliver of pale flesh flashing in Zoey's periphery, teasing just above the waistline of her pants.
Zoey definitely didn't stare.
Too much, anyways.
"I know so," Rumi answered after a moment, shaking her arms out. "Spiro wanted you dead."
And then she shot Zoey a smirk, and that look was all tongue and teeth and promise.
"But I've got more use for you alive."

This goes on the top shelf fics. It's one of, if not THE best, written fics. Ever. Of all time. Yes, it is that good.
Style, prose, dialogue and characterisation are all top-notch. This fic has it's own plot and story with tension and drama. (hence the top shelf)
Dark Mafia AU fic. Fantastically written, I cannot stress enough, it's like a novel.
It has a lotta angst and gore and smut (normally big no from me but the fic is just THAT good)
