Summary
“You don’t have to,” Buck says quickly. “You could just leave it. Don’t look.”
Eddie glances up at him, and they both know without saying it that he isn’t going to let this go.
There’s no way he can look away now, not after seeing the way Buck reacted.
“Or maybe just not now,” Buck says softly, stepping closer, his hand settling gently over the screen like he can shield Eddie from what’s on it. “Maybe leave it for now. You’re not… Eddie, you’re not doing well right now. I’ve been so worried about you and this—” his voice catches, “—you… Eddie, please don’t. Just leave it.”
It stings to hear the worry out loud, even if he knew it was there.
He wants to do what Buck says, he wants to trust his friend and give him what he’s asking.
Buck never asks for anything.
Eddie moves Buck’s hand aside gently, giving it a brief squeeze. “Can’t do that, Buck.”
Or; After Christopher leaves for El Paso, Buck decides that he and Eddie should trace their family trees to keep Eddie’s mind occupied elsewhere. The results lead Eddie to face a family secret.

Summary
Dear Captain Nash,
I know this email is kind of out of the blue, but I didn’t know who else to reach out to. I’m not even sure how to start this email. One time Buck and I signed up for this pen pal program, but the kid in Maine I was writing with gave up after two rounds of letters. It was during my ancient Egypt phase and I think I scared him off with my questions about mummies. Buck told me I was too cool for him anyway.

When Chris starts going to church in Texas he reaches out to the only person he can think of who might have some answers, meanwhile Eddie uses his email to try and talk to God, and Buck... well Buck online shops mostly.
A season 8 rewrite told only through email.

Summary
Eddie Diaz is very good at keeping things contained: his routines, his boundaries, his heart. Evan Buckley has never been good at pretending anything doesn’t matter.
What starts as a simple favor turns into shared coffees, borrowed space, and a kind of closeness that feels dangerously easy. It’s supposed to be fake.

Summary
Eddie really shouldn’t, but he asks, “Book of stories?”
“Yeah,” Chris says. “That’s how I know Buck’s your true love, and how I know this whole town is a curse that my grandparents cast.”
Oh dear god.
Eddie’s makes a couple of incomprehensible sounds as he stares across the street and sees the slice of the harbor between the buildings. But eventually, in the interest of conversation, he asks, “So I’m in this book?”
“Yeah,” Christopher says. “I don’t know all what happened because some of the pages are torn out, but I know you and Buck met and fell in love.”
OR
once upon a time, there was a town in maine trapped between two worlds...
