“I fucking get it,” Chuuya said, his voice nearly a growl. “You love him. You hate him. You wish you’d never met him and you never want to let him go. His praise is what you lived for, and his scorn made you want to die. Those claws, those teeth, get in deep, and sharp, and hard, and painfully. But you would sacrifice anything if it meant getting him back.”
Atsushi still did not make eye contact, blushing. His grip on himself tightened.
“Would you?” he asked ironically.
“Without hesitation,” Chuuya said quickly. “And I know how.”
Chuuya and Atsushi have been serving for years under the Port Mafia Boss Osamu Dazai, Chuuya as his right-hand man, Atsushi as his guard dog and pet. Both were used and abused by the mob boss, twisted into his web of deception and desire, and so they have every reason to celebrate his death . . . only Chuuya finds the way to peer into the other worlds and with it, sees the reason behind Dazai’s actions — as well as the possibility of a happy life with him. Together, he and Atsushi try to change their own world to seek the man they both love and hate to save themselves and him, and to forge a loving future for all of them.

Summary
“The real prince is dead,” Dazai said flatly.
Was it possible the boy had survived? Sure, just as it was possible Dazai would swear fealty to the military and join the Secret Police. But realistically, there was no damn way.
The Prince went missing when the royal family was ousted, causing political turmoil that included the outlawing of abilities, under pain of death. Ten years later, Osamu Dazai and Doppo Kunikida hear of a bounty for the missing royal, and recruit orphan Atsushi Nakajima to play the part. Only Atsushi actually is the missing prince — unknown to all of them, but known to the head of the Secret Police, Fyodor Dostoyevsky. And Dostoyevsky wants revenge on the royal family. All the while, Dazai is starting to realize not only that Atsushi has a lot in common with the supposedly dead prince, but that he is starting to develop feelings for the kind young man.

The words were dripping with sarcasm but Dazai’s face was stoic.
“Yes,” Dazai said simply. “It is. Because when the anti-ability group comes to Yokohama, they’ll be coming after all of us, Agency and Mafia alike.”
Trouble stirs among the Triad when Atsushi is under suspicion for stealing documents from the Mafia. With his origins still a mystery, Atsushi implores his reluctant partners to help untangle his past. And with a new anti-ability threat on the horizon for the Agency and Mafia alike, Chuuya, Dazai, and Atsushi must untangle their own pasts and origins, lovers and friends, in order to protect Yokohama and one-another.
