    Summary

What happened to you was an affront to honour and rightness. It is alright to be upended by what they did to you. All I ask is that you remember that you are still here. You are still fighting against the cold and the dark, despite their attempt. You have the strength of Winterfell behind you, now. Is that not something?

Two months ago, Jon Snow arrived, half-dead, at the gates of Winterfell. He should be dead. He is not. Coping with dangerous truths, House Stark looks to the future.

    Summary

Loneliness was a creature with claws. It tore at him when he was still. It hollowed out his chest and filled him with ache.

He thought about the little boy again — the brief second of a smile, the wide-eyed curiosity. That flicker was enough to keep him moving forward. It had to be. But he knew, deep down, that the mother’s sharp tug and whispered warning was the truth of it. He was not someone a child could reach for without fear.

Not someone who could ever be welcomed as human.

The fire collapsed into ash. Vash closed his eyes, listening to the silence. The desert had no answers for him. It never did.

    ———————————————————————————

OR; Vash reflects on his feelings of loneliness as he wanders through the desert and wonders if humanity will ever accept him.

    Summary

At first the days had passed, then the weeks, the months, and in what felt like the blink of an eye, 3 whole years had gone by. She still struggled–as those who have experienced it know, grief comes in waves–but overall, Rem was content. It was a numb sort of content, static and grainy, but it was enough. She was alive, and had found purpose for herself again, a reason to keep going.

Then the day had come when a plant gave birth.
