Kageyama started and dropped what he was holding in his hand on the ground. After a second, he picked it up and looked at the girl with narrowed eyes. She had long pink hair that slipped down her shoulders and a school uniform with a turquoise sweater. She was vaguely familiar but he couldn’t place where he had seen her before.
“Yes,” he paused, “why?”

The number of times your father locked you in a mausoleum. The number of times your father forced you into things you didn't want. Missions, training, communicating with the gory, screaming ghosts, who wanted his head.

Jayce turns around, prepared to greet his lover, only to falter. There was Viktor, the love of his life, in their shared apartment (which still felt unrealistic from time to time) sitting in a chair. That wouldn’t be anything unusual, if not for the way Viktor was squeezed into the chair. Of course, he had noticed that Viktor had gained some weight, he wasn’t that oblivious, they slept in the same bed and Jayce saw Viktor naked dozens of times. Besides, it wasn’t that big of a deal.
