Summary
And so came it to pass that Durin the Deathless, First of Dwarrow-kind, the Eldest of the Seven Fathers, King of Khazad-dûm, found himself unrelentingly bound to a small chunk of blue stone pocketed by one Belladonna Took on her journey home from a well accomplished adventure.
Years, and multiple adventures later, Belladonna Took – by then Belladonna Baggins – settled into Bag End, and gave birth to a child named Bilbo Baggins, to whom this stone was always meant to belong.
It is with this one small Hobbit that the ghostly Durin is to change the tides of Middle Earth, save his legacy, and rewrite this unwritten history before them.
Additionally/And/Or: In which Durin the Deathless does not accept the finality of his lineage and submits his complaints to Mahal and Yavanna.
Becoming glued to a rock and a Hobbit was not part of his request, but he was Too Vague and forgot to Read the Fine Print.
Also, Hobbits are far too endearing even to Ancient Mostly Dead Monarchs.
Finally, and most importantly, to any Dwarf asking, it isn't technically breaking any rules if the ghost beside you works as a translator for super secret Dwarvish languages.

Summary
Peter wasn't Ego's first child from the planet Earth. Before Meredith Quill's pregnancy, Ego met a man by the name of Nathaniel Essex. A man who claimed he could create the child he had been searching for in turn for certain favours. A child strong enough to handle the Light. Dr. Essex does succeed but before Yondu Udonta can retrieve the child his old friend, Jean-Luc Lebeau, sweeps the infant from under his feet. When Yondu returns for the second time Jean-Luc will reveal Ego's plot and a pact to protect the two children is formed.
Years later Ego is defeated, Yondu is dead, and Peter isn't willing to accept the Centaurian is truly gone. When Kraglin reveals there may be someone who knows how to help, and he may be Peter's half brother, the team must go to Earth to find the man who calls himself Gambit and trek across galaxy for the sake of family. -

Does it make him lesser, that these advances don’t ignite hunger and flattery but revulsion? That the heat curling in his belly isn’t desire but disgust? Or does it make him greater, that he does not stoop, does not prowl, does not take, like a less scrupulous man might?
But what does it matter—lesser, greater—when the result is the same? When he is still here, nursing a drink in the dim fugue of a bar too loud, too young, too dizzying with its perfume of cheap liquor and cheaper thrills. When he is still a man past his prime, not the wolf but in fact seated among them, and though he does not salivate, does not sink his teeth into the softness offered up to him, the very fact of his presence damns him all the same.
Because what else could a man like him be doing here, if not waiting to be fed?

Summary
Shikamaru opens the door in a pair of low-slung sweatpants and a loose, faded t-shirt and Ino thinks that her life is turning into one big joke. And a rather distasteful one at that, if she’s allowed any input. Shikamaru’s standing there, one arm braced on the doorjamb above his head, leaning against the frame of the house so that she can see a slash of toned, tanned stomach from where his shirt’s riding up, and Ino thinks she might strangle something. Maybe whatever god’s decided to turn her life into their personal sitcom. Maybe Shikamaru.
_____________'Casual' and 'uncomplicated' sounded good to Ino when Shikamaru suggested it. And, if she's honest, her feelings are still relatively uncomplicated - just in a different way then Shikamaru meant, and decidedly opposite of 'casual'.

The plan had been to hang out, maybe cuddle and make out a bit. Kiba had even frantically asked Choji for help with a recipe for some obscure cake he’d heard Kankuro mention once, months ago; currently, it sat under plastic wrap in the fridge downstairs, uneaten. When they’d gotten home, Kiba had had every intention of pulling Kankuro into the kitchen and dramatically unveiling it.
That was, at least, until he had seen the look in Kankuro’s eyes that was hungry for something that decidedly was not cake.
