    Hirose could hear a multitude of comments similar to one another in their disgust behind him, but he zeroes in on the one who says the boy’s name. ‘So his name is Nakamura, huh? Mystery solved. He’ll always be handkerchief guy to me, though.’

    The words of their classmates didn’t deter Nakamura, who continues to hold one of the octopuses with clear affection. It was kind of… sweet. 

    Watching as the octopus responded kindly to Nakamura, even gently resting one of its tentacles on his face, Hirose felt his hesitance fade.

    “Do you know me?” Zoro asked. The words tore his throat on their way out.

    Luffy rolled his eyes. "I don’t care about the bounty hunter thing if that's what you mean. You’re just…not bad like they say you are.”

    Zoro has never cared whether people thought he was bad, or murderous, or bloodthirsty. He knew who he was, what he was going to do, and who he was doing all of this for.

    But this one time. Just this one time. It was nice to know that someone didn’t assume the worst of him. Even if the worst was true.

    “I found you!” Luffy exclaimed, unable to hold in his excitement any longer as he took Zoro’s features in, they were harsh and he looked mean but at the same time his eyes held a passion that was completely charming.

    “Excuse me?” Zoro hissed in return, raising an eyebrow in confusion at Luffy’s words and actions, as if he did not understand his excitement in the slightest. Though Luffy did not mind at all.

    “Look!” Luffy simply raised his arm, making the timer in his wrist visible enough for Zoro to notice it had reached zero, and he immediately checked his own. Luffy watched as the emotions in his face morphed from annoyance, to surprise to finally an impressive amount of raw vulnerability.
