Dustin’s brain is moving at rapid fire speed as he interrupts “Starfire!” He says with recognition, “from Teen Titans!” He looks around like he’s made a grand discovery. He’s met with confused stares. “Maybe Will, here,” Dustin gestures at Will, “is like Starfire who learns language through kissing, but he learns everything instead, which is honestly much cooler. It’s a Starfire kinda kiss.”
Lucas and Mike look at each other before nodding. Makes sense, they think.

“I’m not flirting,” Mike tries a lie, “that was a normal interaction.”
“Keep telling yourself that, numbnuts,” Max responds drily, “you couldn’t get a date with Will Byers to save your life.”
With the help of his snarky ice cream-scooping coworker Max, Mike Wheeler’s life is turned into nothing short of a wreck as he pathetically goes about trying to charm Will Byers.

“Yeah,” Max snorts, “which is insane because who’s crazy enough to be in love with Mike?”
Mike moves to swat her on the shoulder, but Will beats him to it.
Mike Wheeler’s disdain for Valentine’s day is only intensified when the party is sent on a wild goose chase to find the identity of his unexpected secret admirer with just a week before the day.
On an unrelated note, Will’s acting extra friendly lately. If Mike didn’t know better, he’d think he’s been flirting with him.

“Actually, no, go back.” Lucas looks slightly confused. “Why the hell did you write Will to be in love with you in the first place?”
Mike Wheeler has lately been having some brain malfunction where his mind keeps trying to trick him into thinking he’s gay and in love with Will. Unfortunately, this begins to reveal itself through a D&D campaign, when he adds the plot line of Will’s character being madly in love with him.
