Summary
Old arguments fell back into place as easy as breathing, like ten years hadn’t elapsed.
Like Lance hadn’t grown into something out of Keith’s wildest dreams, tall and strong and striking. Like he hadn’t just sworn himself to Keith, for the rest of their lives.
Lance laughed, bright and full bodied and wrapped Keith in a hug. It felt so different from when they were younger — mostly because Keith didn’t have much to compare it to. Only a few sparse hugs upon departure, the occasional side squeeze on a good day. This was worlds away from those tepid greetings. Lance smelt heavenly and Keith could taste him in his throat, could drink down the underlying treacle scent of his new husband, rich and borderline savoury in its strength. Overlaying it all was the heavy scent of a storm on a summer day, the smell of dust being disturbed by the downfall, as a young Keith and Lance sat near the parapets and watched as the sky broke open.
Keith hugged him back, crushing him close and resisting the moistening of his eyes.
“You’re back.”

Alternatively, Keith agrees to an arranged marriage. Lance is a distant memory, until he isn't.

“So I have space flu?” Lance muttered.
“A Talerian space flu, I suppose,” Coran replied, chipper as ever.
“Wait,” Pidge took a few steps away from Lance, their arms held out in defense and eyes wide, “it’s not contagious is it?”
“Not to worry!” Coran quickly placated, arms folding behind his back. “It only spreads through very specific means. We don’t need to worry about quarantining or anything of the sort!”
“Oh thank god,” Lance sighed breathlessly, once again leaning heavily on Keith next to him.
Or: Lance contracts a virus from a recently allied planet and Keith struggles to keep his distance from him. He wants to care for his boyfriend, but their relationship is still a secret. Good thing it’s not contagious though, right?
… Right?
