    Summary

It takes both Dante and Vergil forty-three years of their lives to realize that maybe they don't want to spend every waking moment fighting demons. The most prominent sense of that being the ones within. The ones they cannot see nor slash away, the ones that creep and seep in from the peripheries of their memories, from the scars embedded into their souls.
After the Qliphoth disaster had been evaded and dealt with, and after their subsequent joint sojourn in Hell that had finally brought them closer, Dante is able to convince Vergil to join him at Devil May Cry.
Vergil agrees, wanting to atone for his past and finally try to bond with the remaining members of his family, but a lot of adjustment and acclimation is needed. One of the more mundane tasks of those being a new wardrobe-one that doesn't remind him of every mistake he's made since he's been old enough to make them.
That's where you come in-Redgrave's number one custom-clothing designer. Having known Dante for years, you're no stranger to a demon-hunter's needs when it comes to threads. What you are about to find yourself in, however, is going to find you unexpectedly rising to meet many different needs. Ones you haven't ever met before.

At that moment there was a knock on the door. “Madam, I’ve brought him.”

As the courtesan stepped inside with the boy at her hip, Shen Qingqiu finally understood why he was the one the Warm Red Pavilion called. The resemblance between himself and the child was uncanny. The vibrant green hue to his eyes, along with the jet black hair that was secured up with a red ribbon, reminded Shen Qingqiu of his own appearance. Although the boy was missing the sharp facial features hidden beneath stubborn baby fat, if the boy’s stare changed from one of curiosity to a harsher look, they could easily be mistaken as brothers. Or even worse—

“In order to ease the tension, I told the customer that Shen Yuan’s father was of most importance.”

Shen Qingqiu could laugh if he wasn’t simmering in irritation. They wanted him to claim a broken bastard child who wasn’t even his.

In dire need of a change of scenery while working on his latest book, Vergil moves back to his hometown, where he sets Nero up with his first job at the cafe the twins used to frequent in their school days. It’s a great plan—right up until the moment Dante returns home from his most recent tour.

    "Pheromones?"

"Yes, they're olfactory signals produced by certain species to— "

"No shut up I know what they are," Leon flips his knife and points it in the general direction of the nameless scientist, his gaze never leaving the glowing fire red eyes that seem to burn through him. "You're saying, the plaga is releasing sex pheromones."

    A nod.

    "And it's only affecting you."

Wesker bares his teeth in the most displeased grin Leon has ever seen and says, "It would appear so."

“I’m looking for Captain Wesker.” You hold up the lunch bag, your sole piece of evidence, your justification for being here. “He forgot his lunch this morning. I wanted to bring it by.”

A heavy silence fills the office.

“He forgot his lunch,” the burrito guy repeats slowly.

“At home,” the bearded man adds.

    “Where you were.”

    “This morning.”

They’re looking at each other now, exchanging glances, having some kind of silent conversation you’re not privy to.

“Hold on, wait.” Burrito Guy holds up the hand not holding the burrito. “Are you saying you’re-”

“I’m his wife.” The words come out smaller than you intended. “We’ve been married since March.”
