Summary
Set during the events of Resident Evil:Requiem and told in a dual POV, The Price We Pay chronicles Leon and Ada’s struggle to maintain a happy life together amidst the onslaught of endless death and trauma.
Married life hasn’t treated Leon or Ada well. Despite the sense of normalcy they’ve both worked hard to cultivate over the years, the PTSD and addiction impacting them both has taken a hard hit to the love they fought for years to be able to share. However, when Leon is forced to accept a mission to take out disgraced Umbrella scientist Victor Gideon, Ada is given orders of her own. Hired by Zeno and The Connections, she only finds one directive sent to her: Eliminate Leon Kennedy.
Deciding to accept the mission and use it as an excuse to protect her husband from the shadows, just as she always has, Ada realizes that the journey will take both of them back to where it started: Raccoon City. Going back to where it all began isn’t as easy as she thought it would be.
