Even now Zanka wouldn’t look at him. He only wiped his mouth with his sleeves, keeping his angry eyes averted. There was still a tremble to his hands when he clutched his sides, his fingers twitching as the wound bled through them.
"Fuckin’ asshole," his voice sounded tight and hoarse, like it hurt to breathe. "I should kill you for that."
It made Jabber crack a wider smile. "For stabbing you or kissing you?"
Zanka has a lot to lose, and Jabber realizes pain isn't the only way to make a fight interesting.

He swiftly turns towards the door, opening it but right before he leaves he asks.

Summary
The challenge is simple: Anyone who can get the tassel off the cat's neck will be granted the hand of its witch, Zanka Nijiku.
Jabber has no interest in marrying some stuck-up witch, no matter how pretty he may be. What he does want, though, is access to a certain witch's garden, and the poisons within. And if the only way in was getting that snooty cat on his side, he could make nice long enough for that. He'd always been a cat person anyway. How hard could it be?
(inspired by that old tumblr story/prompt "the most wanted woman in town" but a little different obv bc its Janka)

Summary
When Riyo had found out that Zanka had a boyfriend, she'd done her best to be supportive.
She just didn't expect the guy to end up being Jabber fucking Wonger.
At least she wasn't the only one caught off guard. After some negotiations, Zanka is grounded, forbidden from seeing Jabber for a whole month. Which goes about as well as one would expect it too. Meaning that it'd failed horribly.
But that was the least of Riyo's worries. Really, her main concern was figuring out how to handle this whole thing- what she was supposed to do, how she was supposed to react, she had nothing. She was missing way too much information, and it was really starting to bug her. For one, she has no idea what Jabber's actual intentions are with all this. And how could she know, when there seemed to be such a big gap between the Jabber she knew of and the one that Zanka apparently knew?
So when Jabber randomly shows up at her window, asking for advice, Riyo sees it for the golden opportunity that it is.
She'd get her information, keeping her guard up the whole time, and be right back where she wanted to be. Easy.
(Spoiler Alert: It ends up being a bit more complicated than that.)
