“We’re chillin’,” Sonic replied, dashing every milligram of hope that could’ve ever risen. It’s not often that Tails was wrong, but in this case, he was—horrifically.
“Chilling?” he repeated, slowly, doubtfully, trying so badly to give his idiotic older brother an out.
“Chillin’,” Sonic corrected, immediately crushing whatever last spark Tails was trying to hold onto.
“Okay, yeah, whatever, chillin’.” He rolled his eyes. “Is that really the most accurate way to describe your relationship with her?”
His brother raised an eyebrow, frowning. “What’s wrong with it?”

Summary
After twelve long but fun-filled years of chasing the love of her life, Amy Rose is fed up with her inability to move on. After displaying how much he cares about her, she breaks down and runs away, deciding finally to give up her chase. As she and her friends are called to protect the village, he once again saves her. Despite all her anger and frustration, his act of caring and bravery convinces her to give him one last chance.
This book follows a custom timeline connecting the games, Sonic X, and Sonic Boom.
The timeline looks like this:Classic Games -> Sonic X -> Modern Games -> Sonic Boom -> Done Running
I like this because it gives tons of history to work with and reference. Along with this odd connection of timelines, I have corrected the ages of all the characters used within the story. Done Running takes place roughly 8 years after Sonic Adventure 2 (Season 2 of Sonic X). Sonic is now 23, Amy is now 20, Tails is 16, etc
Note: The first chapter is not only a prologue to the book, but is also a prologue to Sonic Boom Season 2, Episode 45
Note 2: Currently updating first several chapters. 1 & 2 are done.
