It did not matter what Katsuki did, Deku would take it, like Katsuki hadn’t even scratched his surface when Katsuki knew he was bone fucking deep. There was nothing he could do to scare, change, or stop Deku. Nothing.

Summary
There was carnage on the screen, smoke drifting over the pixels and fires flickering. A collapsed building. Mitsuki gasped aloud and rushed back into the living room to pick Katsuki up. Before she got there, the news played a shaky clip of a hero, one of the young, new ones with a whole hell lot of life in front of him still, getting caught under another falling building.
“Don’t look,” Mitsuki begged and she scooped Katsuki into her arms, cupping the back of his head to keep him looking over her shoulder. “Katsuki, don’t look, okay?”
“Is he okay, Mom?” he asked. “Did he catch the villain?”

“Mama,” Katsuki murmured, already half asleep. “I wanna be a hero when I grow up. Just like on the news.”
