Summary
“Chris?” Eddie asks, turning away from the stove only to see Chris wearing his headphones at the kitchen table. “Chris!” he calls out and waits for Chris to free up an ear. “Did you hear me?”
“Something about Buck?” Chris guesses. “What is it now?”
Eddie has no idea where this kid gets his sass from.
“I wanted your opinion,” Eddie responds, pointing his spatula at Chris, “on whether or not you think Buck might have feelings for me? Because I’m trying to decide if I should say something to him or not.”
Chris pulls his headphones off fully, placing them on the table.
“About your big gay crush?” Chris asks, looking for clarification.
Eddie rolls his eyes and nods. “Sure, my ‘big gay crush’.”
“I don’t know why you don’t just show him the tattoo,” Chris replies. “I’m pretty sure he’ll be able to figure it out from there.”

Summary
As the guys started heading back onto the field, Eddie lagged behind. Part of him wanted to head back out. Throw a few more. Work on his accuracy. But, Coach had said to ice his shoulder, and he followed rules to the letter…at least on the field.
When he rounded the corner toward the small athletic training room, the cool air from inside hit him like a wave…and there he was.
Evan Buckley, officially part of the athletic training staff, unofficially Eddie Diaz’s favorite member of the training staff.
Buck was a Sophomore, one of the student trainers assigned to baseball. He’d said something once about studying sports medicine, wanting to work with pro athletes someday. He didn’t act intimidated by the players like some of the other trainers did…didn’t treat Eddie like some kind of celebrity. It was…refreshing. Eddie hadn’t meant to notice him every time he came in…honestly, he tried not to…but something about the way Buck moved, calm and confident, made it hard to look away.
Or, Eddie Díaz has the perfect life laid out for him: star pitcher, bright future, endless expectations. Off the field, though, it starts to crack when he’s drawn to Buck…the one person who refuses to play along.

Summary
Time seemed to stretch, the world narrowing into a pinpoint.
There she was.
Shock hit him first. She looked different. Hair scraped back in a messy bun, face pale and tired, dark circles bruising her eyes.…it all triggered memories he had tried so hard to lock away. The fight, the betrayal, the night she’d outed him…he hadn’t even let himself think about her for two years. And now, here she was, holding a baby cradled in her arms.
Eddie’s breath caught. His hands slackened at his sides. The air felt thick, heavy, impossible to move through. He could barely process the sight of her, the sound of her voice, the soft whimper of the child.
“Shannon?” His voice came out rough. “What…what are you doing here?”
Her eyes met his, tired and full of something that looked a lot like guilt.
“Hey, Eddie,” she said softly. “We need to talk.”
Or, Eddie Díaz finally has everything under control…his career, his relationship…but when his past shows up on his doorstep holding a baby and a thousand unanswered questions. Between the tabloids, the team, and Buck’s new life at the 118, holding it all together might be Eddie’s toughest game yet.

Summary
“What can I get you?” Buck asks, wiping a spill on the counter, before flicking the rag back into the sink.
When there’s no immediate answer, he glances up, and finds himself staring straight into a pair of big brown eyes that look equal parts startled and lost.
Or; Buck’s a bartender at a gay bar, and Eddie’s recently out and blushes far too easily.
Buck makes him a drink that matches the pretty pink colour of his cheeks.
