Summary
Chad took in a quick, anxious breath at the sight of Invisigal kissing Robert on the cheek. The fact that Robert was blushing made him stop entirely. Robert’s arms went to her waist, and his eyes looked into hers with what could only be described as longing. Despite all the alarms in his brain telling him that he shouldn’t care, he couldn’t deny it any longer. He was burning with envy.

Or: Robert and Flambae start off on rocky terms, but they slowly grow closer the longer Robert works at SDN. Things get complicated when Robert starts dating Invisigal, reveals his identity as Mecha-Man, and Flambae has to grapple with his hatred and attraction to Robert. Secrets are shared, people get hurt, and angst ensues (balanced by fluff and humor, of course). This fic closely follows the canon timeline, as well as a theoretical season two, from both Robert and Flambae's POVs.

On Friday, Blonde Blazer found a new sucker to try (and fail) to wrangle the infamous Z-Team at SDN's Torrance location. On Friday, they all bet he'd be gone by Monday. On Monday, he showed up. On Tuesday, he showed up again. On Wednesday, they got to put a face to the voice.
He was the most basic and boring man he’d ever seen in his life. Average height, average brown hair cut into an average look, with big doe eyes and even bigger bags underneath them, a freckled face supported by a frame so thin and frail looking a soft breeze might knock him on his ass. All in all, he was entirely unremarkable in any and every way. Kind of cute, but in the same way a malnourished puppy covered in mud on the side of the road was cute.

“Hey! I’m talkin’ to you, bitch!” The voice got closer, and Robert lazily turned his head towards the source.
He almost immediately regretted it, as the most obnoxiously dressed, douchiest looking man he’s ever seen in his entire life struts out from a dimly lit corner. He’s wearing a skintight suit, which, granted, is not uncommon for a superhero bar, but his risque v-neck and the tacky, Guy Fieri-esque flames that curl around his shoulders really distract from whatever he’s screaming across the room.

A choose-your-own-adventure fic where Roberts' bar encounter with Flambae goes a little differently. The end notes will direct you to different chapters depending on which decision you make!!
(I'm sad we never got a Flambae romance option in game, so this is my way of making it happen!)
