Thirteen months.
Over a year since Valentina de Fontaine decided the Avengers name was worth resurrecting—and almost as long since Bucky Barnes and Sam Wilson started arguing about how to deal with it. But the argument wasn’t an easy one, and progress was… slow.
Slower, in fact, than their tour of New York's cafés, confusing patrons with what looked like an epic, deeply uncomfortable staring contest.
They'd figure it out eventually. And it didn't matter how long it took, because it was nobody's problem but their own.
Until it isn't.

Rhodey's eyebrows shot up. “Your kid?”
“Huh?” He glanced at Peter and back again. “You know he’s not my kid. He’s my kid but he’s not.”
“I don’t know, I only met him an hour ago.”
Tony blinked. “What?”
