Crowley waved his hand. “I’m not talking about something ordinary, like a miracle or a temptation.” He said. “I need you to be certain about this Angel, before I–” Crowley cut himself off. There was no need to get into specifics now. “Just…humor me. You want this? You really want me to show you this?”
“Yes.” Aziraphale said. He had a stubborn set to his jaw that Crowley had come to intimately recognize. “Yes, I think…Yes.”
Crowley experienced an odd sensation, like the planet was momentarily tilting sideways while he remained stationary. Or maybe he was the one tilting? It reminded him briefly of the feeling of watching a galaxy being born.
Crowley gives Aziraphale an important lesson on what it means to be human.

Summary
When he had graduated from law school Matt had made plans, but in the back of his mind he had thought that he probably wouldn’t make it to twenty-five. Then he had thought that he probably wouldn’t make it to thirty. That was what was in store for men like him, men like his dad. Murdocks didn’t die of old age, peacefully asleep in their beds. They died swinging. Matt had made his own peace with that knowledge long ago.
Or, Matt has an unexpected hospital stay, experiences an existential crisis, and then gets a (very small) clue, in that order.

“I could actually.” Malcolm said calmly. Jessica stopped, staring at him. Malcolm looked back at her, meeting her gaze. “It doesn’t really matter what I think though.” Malcolm said. “What matters is, could you imagine it?”
“What kinda bullshit is this?” Jessica snapped. “No. I can’t. That’s what I’m saying.”
“Ok.” Malcolm nodded. “So, next Tuesday.”
Jessica straightened up, blowing out her breath in a huff. “Next Tuesday.”
Jessica takes a test. Jessica schedules an appointment at a clinic. It’s all a very regular Tuesday morning.

Summary
They didn’t talk about it. They both knew, of course, but they didn’t talk about it. It was unspoken, a mutual, silent agreement. Crowley could count on one hand the number of times they’d referenced it even obliquely, and each occurrence had carved a permanent scar in his tattered heart.
It was true, though. No less real for being undeclared. No less powerful for being locked away. It bubbled up, occasionally, when Crowley’s white knuckled grip slipped.
Currently, he was slipping quite a lot. The difference was that this time… this time, he thought Aziraphale was slipping too.
