The Cody's needed someone with medical training that they could rely on whenever things went bad.

    ..
Or, maybe Dennis really should have looked the other way when he saw a man bleeding out in an alleyway.

    Summary

If a Twink and a Bear met in the woods (Or the ER) would they make a sound? Apparently yes. Lots of them.

Student Doctor Dennis Whitaker is a disaster of anxiety and religious guilt - especially within the manhandling radius of his handsome, oblivious attending, Dr. Robby.

After a matchmaking patient and a vodka related realization, Dennis is hyperaware of the crush he swore he didn't have. For a mostly closeted virgin, every growled order or touch from Robby is now suddenly sending him into an oh-my-god-I’m-so-fucked-up spiral of sexual discovery.

When a hangover is mistaken for inebriation, the tension snaps. While Robby is convinced he’s just asserting discipline, Dennis is shaken to realize the confrontation is flipping an unexpected switch, but is it for both of them?

Will Dennis survive a blood alcohol test and the discovery that he might crave the control his boss is offering?

Will Robby ever realize his reaction to his student isn't just a Frank-related trauma response?

Stop trying to make "Professional Boundaries" happen, Dennis. The Diagnosis is a terminal case of "Please, Sir," and Dr. Robby is too busy doing a primary scene survey to realize he’s the one causing it. ;)

In Robby's absence, Jack Abbot's roof contemplation feels colder, more tempting than before. He expects another brisk solitary evening, but instead finds a resident breaking in his spot. He really can't help but comfort someone else, can he?

    -or-

Jack Abbot and Dennis Whitaker have sad lives. At least they can share them.

    Summary

Dennis lays in the bed with a stillness so absolute it feels staged. A ventilator breathes for him in measured sighs, the sound too rhythmic to be human. It almost looks like he’s a kid pretending to sleep in the backseat of his parents’ car, hoping to be carried inside by strong paternal arms.

Robby would do anything for that to be the case. Instead, it is sedation that has smoothed away the sharpness from Dennis’s features.

It is a heart attack that has made him so still.

    Or,

Dennis Whitaker fails to clear and gets shocked by a defibrillator. He takes it as a punishment for sinful eyes that can't seem to look away from Dr. Robby and decides not to tell anyone. The ER keeps moving, but Dennis's heart doesn't. It terribly, horribly doesn't.
