“So…” Robby started, interrupting his train of thought, sounding a little… nervous? “Those pictures. Were they… for anyone in particular?”
Whitaker held back a laugh of disbelief. Robby was jealous.
“You wanna know if I’m showing myself off to other men, Dr. Robinavitch?” he asked, voice teasing.
Robby’s grip on his hand tightened.
“Don't worry,” Whitaker smirked. “Those pictures weren't for anyone's eyes but my own.” He paused. “However…”
Another squeeze. “However?”
“I did have this… fantasy, I guess..."

Robby was still waiting for an answer.
Dennis took a shuddering breath. “Because I-”
Robby ground him down particularly hard, and his voice caught in his throat.
“Sorry, I didn't quite catch that. What were you saying?” the man teased.
“Because I’m yours,” Dennis admitted, tears starting to fall. “I'm yours. I'm only yours, Dr. Robby. She can't have me.”
“That's right,” Robby smiled, hand moving down to Dennis’ chest. He knew he could trust the boy to keep looking forward. “She can't have you. But she can watch, from a distance, right? That's allowed?”

Summary
When Robby accidentally sees some inappropriate pictures on Whitaker's phone, he acts completely normal about it.
Whitaker notices how totally normal he is about it, and decides to push him over the edge.

“It's a little blurry, but I think if you zoom in you should still be able to make everything out. Sorry about that, I was trying to be quick,” Whitaker said, biting his lip.
“Hey, don't be sorry - you saved the day with this, kid.”
Robby zoomed in, and sure enough, everything was legible enough. With a relieved sigh, he zoomed back out.
“Wait-” Whitaker yelped, but it was far too late - Robby had zoomed out too far and accidentally exited out of the image.
Robby's eyes widened. Whitaker's heart flatlined, and he snatched the phone from Robby’s hand, but the damage had been done.

Whitaker let out a shaky breath. “Yeah.”
“Why are you calling me?”
He didn't know how to answer that question. There was no way to answer that question without embarrassing himself.
Sorry, Dr. Robby. I’m lonely. I miss my family. I'm thinking about all of the patients I’ve lost. I know you've lost hundreds more, and I know this is just part of the job, and I should just get used to it, but my fucking soul hurts. I feel like a failure. I miss my mom. I wish she loved me more than she loves God. Is that a fucked up thing to say?
Maybe I’m not cut out for this.
