Summary
Carefully, he lowered himself to the floor and let all the books trapped to his body slide free. Then he turned, and was greeted by someone kneeling beside him. A young man. A youth, in a maple-red robe, and long black boots, dark hair tied up in a messy ponytail. His clothing was fine and sophisticated, but his hair gave him a bit of a wild, reckless air. In his arms were a number of books, which he set onto the floor as Xie Lian watched. Though the youth didn’t say a word, his eyes were wide and his mouth, slightly parted, carried lines of concern.

Perhaps exploring the library-den of a wrath ghost is a stupid idea for Xie Lian, bad luck extraordinaire.
Or perhaps this will be his lucky break.

Summary
Xie Lian's last believer is so fervently devoted to him that he seems to think mostly in the form of prayer. That is a terrifying prospect. Xie Lian has never heard of such a case before, not even in hypotheticals, and he finds himself hoping, for his believer's sake, that there is some other explanation for this phenomenon.
Whatever the reason, a low stream of his believer's thoughts hum in the back of Xie Lian's consciousness.
His believer does not seem to be aware of it.

When Xie Lian ascends for the third time, he is welcomed back to godhood with prayers that he hadn't expected: an ongoing stream of thought from his sole remaining believer. He gathers quickly that this believer is very old, very powerful, and very, very much in love with him.
For his believer's sake, Xie Lian can cast a spell to shut the prayers out—but only if he has access to spiritual energy.

Summary
What happens when a ghost and god, bound together, are faced with a supernova?
They have stayed together longer than one can count, through wars and plagues, up to the modernist of times. They pledge forever to each other, they pledge eternity. That this banquet would never end, but can that really be true?
Does their love know no bounds? Even that of the sun?
The world will end, to be absorbed with light and fire, ashes and body alike. But after so long, even the blinding heat could not stop them. They will be eternal, and if they are to die, they die together, finding a way to kiss anyway.
(Inspired by this conversation I saw on reddit asking about what HuaLian would do once the sun consumes the Earth)

When the thick black fog of the curse clears, there’s a child standing in front of Xie Lian. He’s small—he’s so, so small—and as soon as he sees Xie Lian, he wraps his arms around himself and hunches his shoulders like he’s trying to make himself even smaller. There is not a single spark of recognition in that wide, wild eye.
“...San Lang?!”
When a curse turns Hua Cheng into a child again, it's up to Xie Lian to take care of him. It's a task easier said than done, when Hua Cheng's memories have regressed along with the rest of him.
