He held dangerous hands (they were covered in blood, the blood of people whom he’d defended Izuku from) out for a second, before realising what he was doing, taking a step back. Taking a good look now, Izuku saw fear in his eyes, yet it was a breath of air from the disgust that usually infested people’s expressions, causing them to step to the side and look away as if busy. No, this boy wasn’t scared of the blood or responsibility. Izuku saw himself reflected in those eyes, how he’d jumped away from people passing him food, or curled up whenever someone walked past him. This boy was like him. Lost and afraid, not of him, but of the world around him.

Fighting with Nakahara Chuuya was an experience that never failed to leave Atsushi amazed. The gravity manipulator never went down. And when he said never, he meant it.
Nakahara would be thrown through a wall on the other side of the room and get up as if nothing happened. He’d be bleeding and Atsushi was sure he had at least one broken limb but didn’t stop fighting with all his heart. Sometimes, Chuuya was the only left standing, tasked with fighting the rest of their enemies, whether it be one or an army by himself.
And he always won.
