Summary
"You do know an awful lot about me. It's sweet, actually, how protective you are about Elim." He favored Tain with one of his dazzling smiles.
"I'm protective of my investments. Even in exile, Elim continues to be useful to me. And he's about to be very useful to you too."
"Forgive me, I'd thought you were insinuating he'd been plenty useful to me in the past," Julian said. "Or was it the other way around?"
"I'm glad you find it so amusing. Elim's quite sentimental, you know. I'll be sure to tell him how you've been talking about him like a plaything that amuses you."

Summary
In a different life where Garak gave up Palandine and remained with the Order, he is assigned a long term undercover op to extract Federation secrets from one Doctor Julian Bashir. Armed with all the resources of the Obsidian Order, Elim Garak arrives at Deep Space Nine during the Cardassian-Bajoran hand over, intent on seducing the naïve Chief Medical Officer.
Heavily references 'A Stitch in Time'.

Summary
This story follows the relationship of Garak, a former Obsidian Order agent, and Mara, a young xenobotanist with a troubled past and a deep-seated desire to belong. Despite the rough start to their friendship and the many obstacles in their way, they find companionship and understanding in each other's company. Will they let their past mistakes define them or will they choose to forge a new path? Follow their journey to find love and redemption amongst betrayal and deception.
I wrote this because I was unhappy with the way Garak's story ended in the show. While remaining major canon compliant, I've changed some small things here and there. So yes, this story will have a happy ending (er, happier).
Fair Warning: This is still in the process of being written. I've outlined all the chapters and written most of them, but it is not finished yet. However, I am over halfway complete and ahead of schedule in finishing it. I'll update every week until either it's finished or I catch up to where I'm still writing
If anyone would like to proofread/beta read/alpha read/or anything like that, don't hesitate to reach out.
